5 Best Natural Skincare Products to Avoid Toxic Ingredients
When it comes to skincare, what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it.
Unfortunately, most mainstream products sold in stores are loaded with hidden toxins: synthetic fragrances, parabens, phthalates, PEG, formaldehyde releasers, 1,4-Dioxane, and harsh preservatives that can irritate your skin, disrupt your hormones, and even cause cancer.
Your skin is your largest organ, and it absorbs most of what you put on it. That’s why it’s so important to actually know what’s in your skincare products–because some may be doing more harm than good.
Over the past two months, I tested some of the most popular natural skincare brands that promise safe, plant-derived formulas without the toxic ingredients. Here’s what I found.
TLDR: Revive’s Skincare Collection came in #1 because it left my skin smooth and glowing, uses non-toxic ingredients, doesn’t have synthetic fragrances, and even includes 100% PURE essential oils! I’ve been using this collection everyday, and my skin has never looked better.

Revive’s Skincare Collection blew us away and was my favorite Natural skincare by far, earning 5 stars ★★★★★. I love all three products that come in the collection, and none of them made my sensitive skin break out (which is super rare for me!).
The Cleanser does a great job of removing my makeup without feeling abrasive–I still almost can’t believe it’s plant-based and made without harsh chemicals, it really works that well!
I follow the Cleanser with the Face Revitalize Vitamin C serum to hydrate, promote collagen production, and reduce wrinkles. Then I finish with the Moisturizer–this might be my favorite! It does wonders for anti-aging, and it smells amazing.
The best part: unlike other products that use synthetic fragrances (that can end up disrupting your hormones), Revive’s Skincare Collection is made with 100% PURE therapeutic grade essential oils. The Lavender & Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, and Carrot Seed Oils in their products not only smell great, but are amazing for your skin.

It’s no wonder Revive’s Skincare Collection has so many great reviews (including one from us!)
Revive is the only skincare I use now, and that’s why it’s my #1 recommendation. It’s also the most affordable!

True Botanicals is one of the most popular Natural skincare brands, and we ranked it #2.
During our clean skincare review process, the most important thing we looked for was non-toxic, effective ingredients. Like our #1 pick Revive, True Botanicals uses plant-derived, high quality ingredients. They also don’t use any toxic fillers, which is a huge plus!
While True Botanicals does use essential oils in some of their products, they don’t advertise this as a selling point and there’s no confirmation on if those oils are 100% Pure.
Because of this, as well as the really high price point (priced at over 300% more expensive than Revive’s Skincare Collection), True Botanicals is our #2 pick.

Osea is a clean, cruelty-free, natural skincare brand, and we ranked it #3 on our list.
It’s definitely more affordable than our #2 pick, but Revive still has Osea beat as the most affordable.
What we really found unique about Osea is how they emphasize marine botanicals like seaweed and algae in their products and brand messaging. I liked how the products made my skin feel, but I’m not sure if it was worth the slightly higher price.
More importantly: we didn’t see much messaging about non-toxic ingredients on their site. While they did describe themselves as “clean”, the lack of specifics about things like parabens, 1,4-Dioxane, harsh synthetic fragrances, and other toxic chemicals makes us wonder if they’re trying to hide something.
Because of this, Osea came in at #3.
4. Tata Harper

Tata Harper is one of the most well-known natural skincare brands, and we were excited to try it out.
It ended up at #4 on our list for a couple reasons.
While we did like how they offer products for all skin types and advertise non-toxic skincare, the price point did seem a bit ridiculous. One product is more expensive than entire collection bundles from other brands we tried, to put things in perspective.
Also, one red flag: most of their products contain dozens of ingredients (some with even 40+). It’s true that all those ingredients may be clean + non-toxic, but there’s definitely a lot more room to hide unwanted additives. That made us nervous.
The uncertainty paired with the premium price point is why we put Tata Harper at #4.

Coming in last on our list is 100% Pure.
Like their name suggests, their ingredients are definitely more simple and less toxic than a lot of brands sold in stores.
The price isn’t too crazy which is great, but unfortunately their products did make me break out. This doesn’t mean that will happen to everyone, but it does mean I won’t be re-purchasing.
And the winner is…
The winner is Revive! Their skincare collection is non-toxic, made without harmful chemicals like 1,4-Dioxane, parabens, formaldehyde releasers, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, and more. Plus, they use 100% PURE essential oils in their products for added benefits and amazing scents.

What do you mean by “toxic ingredients”? Like…it will ruin my skin?
healthyfitnessandliving
It’s things like carcinogens, artificial fragrances, parabens, sulfates, etc. They cause long-term irreversible damage, are hormone disruptions, and irritate your skin. That’s why I love Revive’s Skincare Collection. They avoid all of those questionable ingredients and keep their formulas minimal, clean, and effective.

Do these “natural” skincare products actually work? Sometimes I feel like the results are slower compared to traditional brands.
healthyfitnessandliving
Absolutely! Clean, botanical-based formulas support your skin barrier instead of overwhelming it with harsh chemicals. Revive’s Skincare Collection is a perfect example: their products are packed with gentle actives like hyaluronic acid, plant antioxidants, and natural oils, so you get visible results without irritation. I’ve personally seen quicker improvement with their serums than with conventional brands.

My skin is super sensitive and acne-prone. Will “natural skincare” help, or could it still irritate me?
healthyfitnessandliving
Sensitive skin actually tends to do really well with clean skincare, as long as the formulas are simple and transparent. When using Revive I didn’t break out at all. No synthetic fragrances, parabens or irritants. Their Gentle Cleanser and lightweight Hydrating Serum are especially good for acne-prone or reactive skin because they soothe instead of strip.

I’m so confused by all the “clean” skincare hype, how do I know which products truly avoid the bad stuff?
healthyfitnessandliving
It’s so confusing, I get it! The easiest shortcut is sticking to brands that fully avoid parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, and mineral oils. Revive’s Skincare Collection is one of the few affordable lines that’s actually transparent about every ingredient. Their serums and moisturizers are completely toxin-free and super gentle, which is why I recommend starting there if you want something truly clean without spending a fortune.

I’m mainly worried about fine lines around my eyes and forehead. Do natural skincare products actually help with anti-aging, or do I need something stronger?
healthyfitnessandliving
Personally, I noticed a big difference in my forehead lines after switching to Revive’s lineup because it supports the skin barrier instead of irritating it like some stronger chemical products do. If anti-aging is your main focus, Revive is definitely worth trying!
