Top 5 Rated Natural Skincare Brands for Mature Skin

Once you turn 25, your body’s collagen production starts to decline, and as the years go by, your skin also begins producing fewer natural fatty acids. Many people don’t realize that your skin is your largest organ, so just like you take care of your liver or kidneys, your skin deserves the same attention and protection. What you put on your body matters just as much as what you put in it.

I turned 50 earlier this year and my wrinkles and fine lines have started to add up. I wanted to find products that could give me a little boost, but I’m not interested in Botox or injecting chemicals into my face, and I certainly don’t need $400 facials every month. But I’ve come to find out, picking the right skincare products for you is harder than expected. Since my birthday, I’ve been testing out some of the most popular skincare brands that help rejuvenate your skin. Here’s what I found.

TL;DR Revive’s Skincare Collection was my #1 pick. It left my skin hydrated, smooth, and glowing. It’s lightweight yet deeply nourishing, and it transformed my skin without toxic ingredients or harsh chemicals (no parabens either!). Since discovering it, this collection has become my everyday skincare staple.

1. REVIVE SKINCARE COLLECTION

Revive’s Skincare Collection really surprised me! It’s my favorite brand that I tried, it’s a clean, non-toxic collection that makes skincare simple and effective.

The Radiance Cleanser removes my makeup and any buildup from the day without striping my skin barrier. In the morning I like to follow it with the Revitalize Vitamin C Serum. After a few days of using this, my skin was visibly brighter and my fine lines started to fade. It’s had a great impact on my wrinkles and hyper pigmentation. At night, I switch to the Renewal Face Serum, packed with antioxidants like Carrot Seed Oil which soothed my redness and made my skin texture noticeably smoother.

Lastly, I finish my routine off with the morning and night Replenish Moisturizer. This absorbed into my skin very easily and didn’t leave me with that heavy, greasy feeling most other moisturizers do.

Their products are made with 100% Pure Therapeutic Essential Oils like Lavender and Frankincense to soothe your skin by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and uneven skin tone. Ylang Ylang balances your skin’s oil production and Geranium calms your redness and any irritation or breakouts. Did I mention they smell amazing?

Read the benefits of each of the essential oils here and check out their great reviews! It’s super affordable and the only skincare I now use.

OSEA Malibu is a trusted, clean brand with A LOT of options when it comes to products. This made it a bit difficult to pick an effective routine. I decided on testing the Ocean Wave Cleanser, the Hyaluronic Sea Serum, and the Advanced Protection Cream. I like their formulas, the cleanser doesn’t stripe your skin yet it still exfoliates for a refined complexion. The serum helped with my fine lines and the cream is very rich, which could trigger breakouts for those prone to adult acne. One thing I will note is when used every day, the cleanser started to irritate my skin since it has lactic acid in it. I don’t think it’s suitable for everyday use, more like 3-4 times a week.

Also, the price for all these products is quite high. The Hyaluronic Sea Serum is very similar to the Revive Renewal Face Serum but at nearly triple the cost. Lovely brand, but not ideal for sensitive skin or long-term affordability, therefore this is #2 on my list.

3. 100% Pure

I really like this brand, 100% Pure. They use a lot of natural ingredients. I picked the Rose Water Gentle Cleanser, the Multi-Vitamin + Antioxidant Serum, and the Watermelon Cucumber Water Locking Moisturizer. The cleanser felt hydrating but otherwise it was too lightweight, I had to double-cleanse. The serum was full of vitamins that helped my wrinkles and brightened my skin tone. The moisturizer was a bit too mild so it didn’t feel like there was much nourishment here.

The serum, though I loved it, is only suitable for nighttime application so my routine felt a bit empty in the morning. As for the cost, thought not as affordable as Revive, still a more cost-friendly option on the list, putting it at #3 overall.

4. True Botanicals

True Botanicals products are high-quality but not user-friendly. I tried their Natural Cleansing Balm, Vitamin C Booster, and Advanced Clinical Cream. Though my skin looked brighter and moisturized, the cleanser is hard to wipe off and the Vitamin C comes as a powder you need to mix yourself each time. I also noticed that some ingredient lists aren’t fully clear. Several products include “proprietary blends” without specifying everything that’s inside, which makes me wonder what’s actually in them. For a brand that claims total transparency, that felt disappointing. Plus their products are definitely a pretty penny… it’s not feasible to restock when I’ve found others that outperform them for a better price point.

Though good results, at this price and complexity, it’s not practical for everyday use, taking the 4th spot.

5. Tata Harper

Tata Harper was the only other option besides Revive that offered a collection crafted for the ideal skin care routine instead of having to search through a bunch of products. Before starting this review, I want to be honest that I only tried this because I got it as a birthday present, since it is upwards of $400.

The ingredients are clean and I did feel that my skin was softer and glowier after using the products, but I will say most of the price seems to go towards the packaging. I don’t see the point in paying for a box I’m going to toss anyway. Due to this, this one is #5 on my list.

And the winner is…

Revive’s Skincare Collection! It stood out for its visible results, simplicity, and clean ingredients. It brightened, hydrated, and smoothed my skin without causing adult acne or breaking the bank.

If you’re looking for a natural skincare routine that actually works, Revive is the one I’d recommend to anyone over 40 (and even before 40 if you want to get ahead of aging, my daughter already stole the Revitalize Vitamin C Serum from me).
