BruMate Review: Your Favorite Drinks Cooler

The Discovery

Summer is my favorite season. I love being outside and I absolutely love being on the water. I’m always testing out new outdoor drink containers ranging from Tervis Tumblers to containers found at my local Homegoods. I finally found my favorite container for drinks and it happens to be a brumate! Yes, that product that you keep seeing all over your social media! I wrote a brumate review detailing everything that I love about them!

Update: Have you seen their 3-gallon backpack coolers, named BackTap™? They are stainless steel, lined, and leak-resistant. It even comes with a TAP!

The Experiment

I decided to try out the BrüMate HOPSULATOR TRIO 3-in-1 Can Cooler, one of their bestselling products. There were lots of colors and textures, but I went with a stainless-steel finish option because I liked the sleek design.

The product is a can cooler that comfortably fits 16-ounce cans while also including a freezable adapter to accommodate smaller 12-ounce ones.

In addition to storing drinks, the product can be used as a tumbler. It seemed like pretty advanced technology for a can cooler, and with all the rave reviews on Amazon and the website, I decided to take my chances. As an outdoors fan who loves hiking, this seemed like the perfect portable option to keep my drinks cool with limited added weight.

Design (9/10)

One of the first things I noticed when I decided to do a brumate review was how gorgeous it was for a cooler. The product’s minimalistic design will be incredibly attractive to those who don’t prefer flashy colors.

The finish on the bottle’s exterior was also uniform, with no blemishes and a super soft feel. It feels great in your hand with a nice firm grip and the added bonus of both durable and scratch-resistant material.

Quality (8/10)

The technology was also no joke, and I could see why the design had been patented. I had tested the product out with both 16-ounce cans and 12-ounce ones, and both remained ice-cold during the several hours they were in the cooler.

There is even a special freezable adapter that allows the product to work with 12 oz cans which made it extra useful.

I also really like the push-lock gasket feature, which kept the can firmly in place, essential for me as my long hikes usually involve a lot of moving around.

Splash-free doesn’t mean spill-proof, however- which is something I learned the hard way when Red Bull spilled all over my backpack. Oof definitely lost some points for my brumate review!

Another downside was that the product is quite heavy and added extra weight to my bag that I was not expecting. This made lugging it around on hikes a bit more challenging.

Value for Money (7/10)

The Hopsulator 3-in-1 retails for $24.99, which is a bit on the pricier side for a single can cooler. The technology, however, along with its multiple drink-friendly features, make for a pretty good deal. Overall I would give this product a buy from my brumate review.

It is the only product on the market that acts as a cooler/tumbler for both 12 and 16-ounce drinks, along with splash-free and push-lock technology. Most other coolers can only claim to fulfill one of those functions and are definitely not as pretty or long-lasting.

Although the price is higher than other traditional can coolers on Amazon, it boasts three times the specs with a price that is still relatively affordable. It is the perfect amount to spend on a product which can be given to someone as a gift, especially for those like me who can’t stand warm drinks on sweaty summer days.

Functionality (8/10)

No matter how pretty or how inexpensive the product is, of course, it is of no use if it doesn’t do what it claims.

Thankfully, the Hopsulator did its job and did it well. I have to admit, the product seemed like sorcery at first when it kept my soda ice-cold for over 12 hours straight. My yeti keeps my drink that cold – but at a much higher price!

The adapter also worked well, with just a simple attachment needed for use with shorter cans. I probably used the adapter more than anything else, as I’m definitely a guilty soda drinker. Using it as a tumbler was also a good option if you could handle any potential spills. Spills was one of the most important things in my brumate review!

However, preventing such accidents can become even more difficult because of the loose cover on the lid, which does not entirely block the liquid’s flow. This made it an annoyance to carry around once opened because you’re always worried about if your soda or water will end up spilling and making a mess.

Customer Service (8/10)

Online shopping, no matter how much it has evolved, still makes me skeptical of its trustworthiness. BrüMate seemed to have sensed this beforehand, as they have mentioned several perks on their website to calm the nerves of customers like me.

They offer a lifetime warranty on their products. Although this doesn’t apply to refunds, the warranty is good for product replacements. If the product that arrives is defective or doesn’t function properly, the company will promptly replace it with a brand new one.

Many other customers have vouched for this, stating that BruMate’s customer service team promptly replaced their defective pieces. Their team is incredibly swift in replying to emails and doing everything they can to leave a customer fully satisfied.

I was also super pleased with the option for FREE delivery. The website stated that the company provides free shipping to over 60 countries worldwide, that too within one or two business days.

Final Score (40/50)

After assessing the Hopsulator by BruMate through five different categories, including design, quality, value for money, functionality, and customer service, my brumate review scored a decent 80% from yours truly.

For the better part of a week, I used the Hopsulator TRíO 3-in-1 Can Cooler as both a tumbler and a can cooler on hikes, storing both 12 ounce and 16-ounce cans within the product. In all honesty, the experience was not bad at all – my drinks remained ice cold in a snazzy, expensive-looking bottle for the most part.

All in all, the product does what it advertises, with the added bonus of doorstep delivery and fantastic designs.

If you are looking for a new and trendy can cooler that you don’t mind paying a little extra money for, the Brumate Hopsulator is not at all a bad choice.
